Minnetonka, Minnesota

Minnetonka is a thriving community with a population of 49,734. The city is just eight miles from Minneapolis. The city’s name means “Great Water”, which is a name from the Dakota Indian Tribe. The city was founded in 1850, then six years later the city was incorporated. The city has many exciting things to see and do, and this is why the city attracts so many visitors.

The Gray’s Bay Marina is an excellent location for fishing, boating, and feeding the ducks. Shady Oak Beach and the Libbs Lake Beach are two of the public beaches in the city where everyone can go swimming. The beaches have lifeguards, picnic areas, and concession stands, so everyone can enjoy a day at the beach. The city is home to ten hockey rinks, ten skating rinks, and over eighty miles of trails that visitors can enjoy.

If you would like to learn about the history of the city, then the Charles H. Burwell House is an ideal spot. The Charles H. Burwell House is one of the first Victorian houses built in the city in 1874, and since then the house has been restored. There are tours provided daily where visitors can see what life was like in the late 1870’s. Arts in the Park is a yearly event that occurs during the summer months. The Arts in the Park event features live music and free movies. All of the activities are free, and this is a great time for visitors to meet the residents of this great city. Minnetonka is a thriving community that has different activities that everyone will enjoy doing.

Adding Entertainment Space Downstairs

We got a call from a family that had finally decided to put their downstairs basement area to good use. They called us to do some work as their basement remodeler in Minnetonka. We were more than happy to help them out! The first thing they mentioned during their initial meeting was that they wanted to be able to entertain in the basement. The kids in the family, a brother and sister, had just entered high school and middle school, so it was important for the parents to have a space for them to be able to have their friends over (where they could also keep an eye on them). It was equally important for the parents to be able to relax in this space as well.
